The visitor centers and museums of the Central Mountain county offer a chance to discover stories that are not always apparent at first glance. Here, the Pre-Romanesque architecture of Lena, the *hórreo* (granary) culture of Bueño, village life, the dairy tradition of Morcín, and—above all—the mining heritage of Mieres are preserved, explained, and passed on to future generations. Exploring the Bustiello Mining Village, visiting the Espinos Mine Shaft (Pozu Espinos), or learning about the Fortuna Mine Shaft (Pozu Fortuna) helps one understand how coal transformed both the landscape and the lives of generations of people.
